The ground floor of the East Wing has now been transformed into ten temporary exhibition rooms, a new public entrance, retail space and adjoining stair case lobby shared with its neighbour above, Kings College.
Each room has been fitted out with two suspended metal profiles, with a polished metal finish and suspended on tension cables from the side walls. Dimmable T5 battens are hidden in the top of the profiles, lighting up towards the ceiling. Three circuit track is hidden in the bottom of each profile, supplying power to adjustable LED spotlights with zoom lenses and built in dimmers.
The centralised lighting control system is operated by an automatic time clock and a touchscreen. The touchscreen allows the end user to manually set the level of the uplighting in each room. Once saved, the time clock will automatically recall the scene at the next timed event. The time clock can be manually disabled for special functions.
